This jacket is definitely not for weather that hits freezing. It’s essentially a wind breaker outer layer and a thin fleece jacket on the inside. I was really disappointed by how insubstantial it was. I ended up keeping it because my 5 year old was SO EXCITED about his new jacket and wanted to wear it right away, but I will probably purchase something else to be his warm winter coat for the year.It’s quality made, as is typical for NF, and the price isn’t bad if you’re looking for a thinner jacket. It fit my very slim son well and the liner fleece is easy to take in and out. I can’t speak to water resistance yet, but it’s north face so I doubt that’s an issue.So overall I would 100% recommend if you are looking for an autumn jacket. But suggest getting something more substantial if you’re hoping for a winter coat.
