I recently purchased this 4G Smart Watch for my child who is attending Junior High School. My wife and I didn't feel that our child is ready for a Smartphone, but we needed a product that allowed him to call, text and also has GPS location so that we can track his whereabouts.I searched for a while and couldn't find any "big" brands (i.e. Google, Samsung, Garmin, etc.) that offered this kind of product in Canada. I was originally reluctant to try this product, but was pleasantly impressed by its functionality and quality for its value.I purchased a nano SIM card from Chatr for $9 on Amazon and signed up for their pay-as-you-go monthly plan, which includes calling, text and 1G of data. It was an easy plug and play. This 4G Smart Watch worked immediately with Chatr. If you choose to use other carriers, you may need extra steps in setting up the APN in order to get the watch to work properly.The interface for the Smart Watch is user friendly and easy to use. The touch screen is quite responsive. Your child can customize the screen lock (password) and wallpaper.Calling and SMS text worked flawlessly. You can also download WhatsApp, Line or WeChat, if you would like your child to use a chat app to communicate with you.Video calls can be used through the Watch's own in-house app or through the chat apps (i.e. WhatsApp). I tested it out and Video calls worked well too.GPS location is done through their in-house app, SETracker2. It updates every 10 mins and the location is accurate. Parents are required to download the in-house app SETracker2 in order to fully utilize all the functions this Smart Kids Watch offers. (Note: there are short ads that pop out when using this app, but if you take the extra effort to contact customer support, they will remove it for you)Other functions worth noting are:- You can disable the watch during school time. There is a function called "Do Not Disturb" where you can set specific times when the watch will be disabled- Contacts are added onto the watch via the SETracker2 app. In other words, only parents can add verified contacts onto the Smart Watch. You can also enable the watch to reject any calls that aren't verified. This way your child won't get any unverified calls from strangers or scammers.- Music and photos can be added onto the Smart Watch by transferring them from your smartphone via Bluetooth.- All incoming SMS texts will be viewable by parents on the app. This allows you to monitor and keep your child safe from unwanted communications from unverified contacts- Battery life is good. With a fully charged watch, my child was able to use it the whole day without much problems.Overall, I am quite happy with the purchase. The quality and function of the product is worth the value.One last thing I want to mention is the smart watch's customer support. I don't think it is just one person, but they are called "Johnny" to make it more personal. They are quite helpful and responsive. You can contact them via email or WhatsApp.In terms of area of improvement, the instruction manual and notice, and also customer support, give off an unprofessional vibe (i.e. spelling mistakes, odd use of words and vocabulary in English). It doesn't feel corporate like what the big brands have. If they can improve on this, I personally think it can serve the Canadian market really well!
